LAST GANG IN TOWN TP

(W) Ben Oliver (A) Rufus Dayglo, Adam Cadwell (CA) Rufus Dayglo

This title collecting the 6-issue miniseries kicks off in England, 1976: the country coming apart at its flared corduroy seams, a decade after the Great Train Robbery, when British crime has gone decidedly soft in the middle. Time for a new generation of criminals to rise: a band of snotty-nosed heroes driven by destiny and cheap cider, who will strike fear back into the establishment, put art back into crime and crime back into art, and pull off the heist of the century.

FROSTBITE #1

(W) Joshua Williamson (A/CA) Jason Shawn Alexander

Long after Earth has entered its second ice age, humanity has learned to cope with the frozen elements. If that wasn't enough, a terrible disease nicknamed "frostbite" is literally freezing people from the inside out. Once you catch it, the effect is instantaneous. There is no immunity, there is no cure.
Until now. Doctor Henry Bonham and his daughter Victoria have found the key to ending frostbite. If they can get from Mexico City to a secret government outpost in Alcatraz, they could stabilize life across the globe. But to do that they'll need to stay alive. That's where Keaton comes in. She and her crew have faced worse journeys before, but never with the potential consequences this one poses if they fail.
A new miniseries from acclaimed writer Joshua Williamson (The Flash: Rebirth; Nailbiter) and artist Jason Shawn Alexander (Empty Zone; BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY), FROSTBITE is a science-fiction action miniseries unlike any other.

UNKNOWN SOLDIER TP (NEW ED)

(W) Garth Ennis (A) Kilian Plunkett

In this new edition of the classic spy thriller by writer Garth Ennis, maverick CIA agent William Clyde searches for the legendary patriot known only as the Unknown Soldier. As Clyde uncovers a tangled web of decades-old conspiracies and corruption, he learns that there can be dire consequences for unyielding commitment to duty. Collecting the 1997 four-issue miniseries.

unkown soldier.jpg

When I was a kid, Preacher was my favorite comic and I found this book soon after in my search for anything Garth Ennis related. I had never heard of the Unknown Soldier, nor did I know he was an old silver age character, but none of that mattered as Ennis delivered a tight, action packed, compelling spy mystery that grabs you from page one. Plunkett's art is gritty, grimy and as dirty as the C.I.A. black ops that Clyde unwittingly becomes entangled into!!
