BATMAN: GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT TP (NEW ED)

(W) Brian Augustyn  (A) Mike Mignola

A new edition of the classic starring the Victorian-era!
Includes GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT and MASTER OF THE FUTURE, tales that pit The Dark Knight against Jack the Ripper and a death dealer from the skies over Gotham City!

To hell with the lynching that is bound to be coming my way, I'm going to say it... I wish Mignola's art still looked like this. I appreciate the spiffy tentacles and the ambiance that he creates with his current art style. His influence is inestimable, and deservedly so, but his art used to MOVE, it used to be actual SEQUENTIAL ART, and it was just as attractive as the stuff he does now. (It might have more to do with Russell's inks on this book than the majority of us would like to admit, but...) That all being said this is probably my favorite of all the Elseworlds that I've read. I love this book. recommended by erin.

As the body count mounts and events spiral out of control, the investigation points to Toad Hall, where a cabal of industrialists and fat cats plot the overthrow of the French State . . . by use of steam-driven automaton soldiers!

NEW LOCAL COMIX!!

STEAMFUNK #0

(W) Eric Doty  (A) Luke McKay

Steamfunk is the first publication by Button Mash Productions inc. It's an all ages comic that includes a bit of steampunk, a pinch of diesel punk, western, and fantasy. Its biggest influencers are The Wizard of Oz and Firefly. The "funk" in the title serves a dual purpose referring to the musical references throughout the story as well as the state of the world the characters exist in. The story will follow the adventures of a gutsy delivery girl, Deaux, as she unravels truths that she may not be prepared for.
