STAR WARS: LUCAS DRAFT #1

(W) J.W. Rinzler (A) Mike Mayhew

Before Star Wars, there was The Star Wars! This is the authorized adaptation of George Lucas's rough-draft screenplay of what would eventually become a motion picture that would change the world.

Annikin Starkiller is the hero . . . Luke Skywalker is a wizened Jedi general . . . Han Solo is a big green alien . . . and the Sith . . . Well, the Sith are still the bad guys. High adventure and derring-do from longer ago, in a galaxy even further away!!

X-MEN #2

(W) Brian Wood A) Oliver Coipel

 • The school is on lockdown...but if the bad guys can't get out, neither can the X-Men!
•  John Sublime is back, but is one of the X-Men's scariest villains not who we should be afraid of?
•  Who or what is Arkea
?

Ok, look, I know its the X-Men, I know how much crap I talk about them, but...damn. That first issue was friggin' gorgeous!! Coipel sets up what should be the definitive look for these fabulously amazing X-Women with a sense pizazz and style that you can't help but flip through the book 50,000 times, trying to understand the magic and skill of Oliver Coipel! Plus, Jubilee finally looks like an awesome anime kid instead of some 90s Disney movie reject from Southern California.

X-MEN #1

(W) Brian Wood  (A) Oliver Coipel

Because you demanded it! The X-Women finally get their own book, from critically acclaimed superstars Brian Wood (X-MEN, ULTIMATE X-MEN, DMZ, The Massive) and Olivier Coipel (AVX, HOUSE OF M, THOR)! An old enemy shows up at the X-Men's door, seeking asylum from an ancient evil come back to earth. Meanwhile, Jubilee has come home, and she's brought with her an orphaned baby who might hold the key to the earth's survival...or its destruction. Against a backdrop of what seems like an alien invasion and an eons-spanning war between brother and sister, Storm steps up and puts together a team to protect the child and stop a new threat that could destroy all life on earth!

x-men.jpg

That's right, Casey, X-Men hater supreme is throwing his chips behind the all adjective less, regular calorie X-Men book that brings together all of my favorite X-Women in one place!! Channeling the evolved 90's Jim Lee vibe (complete with the Shirow touch), Coipel puts together the most deadly, badass and sexy looking Super-Heroes to ever pull on skin tight latex! Look how friggin cool/hip/hacker 90's slick Jubliee looks on that sentinel head!! And Storm with her F'Ning EPIC mohawk--Psylocke with her butt shots and much much more!! Plus, Bendis isn't writing it Bendis isn't writing it!!!! Oh man, happy day.

MASSIVE #1

(W) Brian Wood  (A) Kristian Donaldson

In a post-war, post-crash, post-disaster, post-everything world, the environmental-action trawler Kapital scours the earth's oceans for its mysteriously missing sister ship, The Massive. Captain Callum Israel, a man who has dedicated his life to the ocean, now must ask himself-as our planet dies-what it means to be an environmentalist after the world's ended. Callum and his crew will come up against pirates, rebels, murderers, and thieves as they struggle to remain noble toward their cause. Can you save a planet that's already doomed?

From the team that brought you 'Supermarket', comes an ongoing story of survival amongst the treacherous waters of an Earth crippled by the folly of man.
